UNGA at School

Assalamualaikum and hello everybody! Looking at the title, do you know what is UNGA? Well, UNGA means United Nations General Assembly. When my school did this, each class randomly gets any country that they'll represents. This year, the country was Cuba, Sweden, Ghana, Greece, Argentina, Philippine and Qatar. Guess what, my class got Greece! So we get a chance to be fellow greeks on to prepare this event.

I'm one of the people that in charges of the costume. So, my English teacher said that we can rent costumes if we want to. I actually want to rent costumes for the speaker and some promoter. But due to ALL of the stores are located in KL which is 3 hours drive, issues with the limited rent days and how expensive the costume are. I cancelled that. We  also got to cut the cost low so we end up using what we already had for the costumes. We also stayed up until 1 a.m. a few days before the event. There's also other classes that slept until 3 a.m. to finish the preparation. Wow, I couldn't put up with that late.

The Day

In the morning, we marched all together to the square where our booth were held. After we arrived at the square, we formed into a 'U' shape and sang We Are Here by Alicia Keys. Truth to be told, I love that song. Alicia really shows peace and unity in the song and really matches the real reason for unity in UNGA.

I don't know why this song is so underrated! I mean, this is Alicia Keys everybody! The song deserves more than just a 4 million views. It really deserves more! We enjoyed the song and sung it loudly. Who cares, that's our time. After we finish sang the song, we went to our booth and welcomes everyone who came. It was very enjoyable and fun. I really like the expression when people come to our booth. I actually have a little knowledge 'bout Greece already and love to have that country to promote. It is a very beautiful country indeed.

Guess what, Greece won the best country and best booth! My class were very grateful of all the hard work to prepare everything. Really I didn't expect to win best country though and now, I miss UNGA. I miss the moment. The memoir. Really makes me smile alone.

At last, I have my polaroid pic with my ex-roomies! Miss them, and guess which one is me? *laugh* I'm the not so pretty one, of course. Okay. maybe that's all to tell you guys!
