Rise Of Headscarves Brand in Malaysia

    Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

Living in 2016, there are MANY, I mean many headscarves brand that start to rise up and get a lot of attention for all the Malaysian ladies. (Me also included) *guilty* Well, since I got a bit of a gap time before I'll enter university, I actually discovered that there are really various types of headscarves brands sold in Malaysia which equal to RIP money for all the husbands out there. When I grew up, I only knew one type of headscarf which is Tudung Bawal (Voile Scarf). (Tudung means headscarf in Malay.) Ending primary school with a rising of instant scarves which we call, tudung sarung or as my friend calls it 3 Second Scarves. We ladies just wear it like that and do a bit of adjust. Voila, you are ready to go.

Upon entering high school on 2011, long scarves (here we just called it shawl) started to gain popularity and was introduced with many and many style to wear. All I can remember that Hana Tajima (a british-japanese designer) style of wearing her scarves were very popular around that year. Last year, she collaborated with Uniqlo to produce her own line of lifewear. You can check it here: UNIQLO x Hana Tajima. All I remember that 5 years ago was when headscarves line started to grow like mushrooms where there were brands like Aidijuma, Fareeda, Bawal Exclusives and etc started. Many, huh?

Now in 2016, so many boutiques pop out of nowhere and sometimes, the price offered and all the discounts just makes me instantly raise my white flag. Oh why, oh god. Now there are also known brand that make their way up above all the scarves with their great advertisement. For example like Naelofar Hijab, Duckscarves, MumuScarves and etc. Sometimes, the name of the brand just sounds so cute. (Like mumuscarves, it sounds quite cute right? mumu..)

There are many more including the celebrities collaboration and stuff but it's okay because we got to support our local business right? Props to them! Not everyone will succeed internationally but some prove to do so. Well it means that my wallet hurting from all the cash just go out but never actually go in. :')

Now with Ramadan saying hi soon, people will busy preparing their Raya clothes and there will be more and more sale. More and more crying of the money exchanging hands. Oh my god. Anyway, this will be an introduction to anyone that will wearing headscarves soon. If God Wills. You got a lot of choices! If you are not from Malaysia, they mostly ship internationally! So no worries.

Which scarf is your favourite?

  5. Hijab fashion and style are developing so rapidly that I find it hard to differentiate one from the other. I've just started wearing the shawl (lilit sana, lilit sini) this year and sometimes I feel too old to wear the complicated methods - so I stick with the easy styles. I love the colours available & the pricing choices that we have. It's a positive change. :D
