July Favourites 2019

Assalamualaikum and hello guys! Since we're entering August now, I think I should tell you guys what my July favs are! There are many new things I found during this month of July and I thought I share it with you!

MUSIC
There are numbers of songs I discovered and some that I re-listened to and become my replays for July. There are mixed of songs I put here, there are mellow, pop and alternative for you guys to listen to! Since I am also a fan of Korean music, so must. include. it. here :D

Do please listen to these songs and comment if there any of your favourites. Do also suggest your favourite songs to listen to now! :)

BOOKS
I've read a few books but I want to highlight 1 book for you to check it out. It is called The Weight of Our Sky by Hanna Alkaf. I'm proudly to say that Hanna Alkaf is a Malaysian writer and I was rather shocked when I read this book because of how well written it was. It is not the best book I've read but I was absorbed by the storyline and time just ticks away as I quickly finish this book. Truth to be told, I didn't expect anything out from this book as it was newly released and randomly bought. Here is a brief of the story.

" A music-loving teen with OCD does everything she can to find her way back to her mother during the historic race riots in 1969 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Melati Ahmad looks like your typical moviegoing, Beatles-obsessed sixteen-year-old and she also believes that she harbors a djinn inside her, one who threatens her with horrific images of her mother’s death unless she adheres to an elaborate ritual of counting and tapping to keep him satisfied. But there are things that Melati can't protect her mother from. On the evening of May 13th, 1969, racial tensions in her home city of Kuala Lumpur boil over. The Chinese and Malays are at war, and Mel and her mother become separated by a city in flames. "

PODCASTS
I've been into podcasts lately and I started to listen to them right away! The main reason I dug into them is actually to fill in my boredom since I'm currently on my semester break. Another reason is I want to try to gain new knowledge and info of anything. So here are my favourite podcasts so far. You can click on the title and it will lead to Youtube videos. These are also available in Apple Podcasts and Spotify!

TV SHOWS

I also watched many tv shows and dramas (mainly on Netflix) and there are some caught my eye! There are 3 shows that I've been loving in July. Of course, Stranger Things. This show is all over the internet with the memes and the jokes from this show and I actually finished 3 seasons straight. (I was actually tired from lying on my couch all day long to finish this show) It was suggested by my friend and I'm grateful for that as this show just make my life better with the humor around it. Another two is The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Orange (Anime). What I love about The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are those demon languages that they use! It is full of witches and spells that almost bring everything to a mess. If you like those things, this is a must watched. While Orange, is actually a melodrama but also slips in a bit of comedy. Don't want any spoilers but the storyline really hits a reality about a boy who secretly wants to suicide and only his friends could help him get out of it.

So these are my favourites from July! I hope there are some of yours too and if you have any July favourites, don't hesitate to comment yours!

Bye ♡
