Zoella's Lip Balm Duo : First Impression

Saturday, November 26, 2016

Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

So I just purchased this lip balm duo from Cupcake Aisyah's booth. The reason I bought this is because I am in need of a lip balm right now and coincidentally I'm a regular fan of Zoella. I also suck at cute and fun packaging so there was me with a plastic bag walk away from the booth. It retailed for RM58 and for me, it's a splurge because you can just get a regular lip balm at the drugstore for like what,  under rm15 and all. But it's a reasonable price due to the changes of currency.

My first impression is the packaging are very cute and this is my first time using a tin lip balm. The duo set consists of two lip balms, the red is gingerbread scented and have slight shimmer in it, though it is not that visible on the lips. While the brown tin is just a regular balm with a vanilla scent in it. For me the scents are fine and it is not too strong on the lips. The gingerbread scent is barely there anyway so for anyone that not too keen of any strong scent in lip product then this lip balm is totally suitable for you.

The lip balm is very moisturising to my like and it's not too oily. But it kinda seems heavy on the lips though. Well this is from the christmas range so it got to be moisturising but I hope it change the formula to be lighter on the lips. I'll wear it everyday hehe.

Get these at the official stockist:
Superdrug and Feel Unique

I got this at Cupcake Aisyah's booth and she sells 100% original products. Check her out on instagram at @cupcakestore_aisyah.

Have you tried Zoe's product before? ♡

My First Liquid Lipstick!

Thursday, November 17, 2016

      Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

So as you read from the title, yes, I just purchased my first liquid lipstick a few days ago which I bought from my local Sephora and you guys must be wondering like, why now? Why only now? Why don't you purchase anything before? Honestly, I'm not a lipstick person due to the fact that I have a major dry lips and I was never the one that into all these makeup. I was once, trying to dive into the world of makeup when I was 15 years old but quickly stop because I didn't actually have a reason to wear it and plus I have a sensitive skin so better to avoid it!

Do you really want to know who the one that really influenced me to buy lipstick..? Nope, even my closest friend couldn't easily influenced me. It going to be weird but the person that influenced me is actually.. Kylie Jenner xD I watched her instagram and snapchat like usual but stalk them MORE when she released her cosmetics line. At first I was like, meh just another lip product maybe because I'm not that into it yet. YET. Then I started to watch her swatches, all the youtubers swatches, she came out with new colours AND the colours from her line that I have my hearts on are in shade Moon and Maliboo. I love their tone but I don't know if it actually fits my skin colour but oh wells. Now, stop on the story and lets dive in to this lipstick!

I picked this Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in shade Caramello and it describes as neutral nude in the website. When I swatched it, it appear as a more to peachy tone which is ugly on my skin tone. (Though it is nice on my hand, just not on my lips) But when it dries down to matte, the colour tone change a bit and it transforms to a nice mauve-y nude.

- The colour is be-eau-ti-ful!
- Lightweight on the lips
- Applies smoothly
- The brush applicator is soooo nice.
- LOVE the scent! ♡

- The price...
- It can take quite a long time to dry completely
- Can be a lil' bit patchy so it is advisable to wear a lip balm before applying the lisptick.
- Hard to wipe off with just a makeup wipes. I need to rub my lips.

So far, love the lipstick but not the price so I'm going to be very careful to not over apply and a dip of the brush is actually enough to cover your whole lips. No need to re-dip.

Where to buy?
At your local Sephora but for Malaysians, it is currently not available on the website :(

Retailed for RM99 each

Now, what is your first lip product?

Malaysia Fashion Week 2016

Tuesday, November 08, 2016

    Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

So I've been to Malaysian Fashion Week these few days and I'm in awe how beautiful were those collections were. The event were 4 days between 2-6 November and was held at Matrade. The reason I went to this fashion show is to look out to some of the designers' idea and well, I'm on semester break so why not go out from the house and do  a little bit of productive day rather than sit in front of the laptop and watch.. movies..? BUT, I have one drama on hold to watch later after I settle with this post and all.

All the clothes represented are beautiful and simply creative. The performances are great too as they mostly were performed by kids and they were too cute! Alhamdulillah for this event and hope it will continue with blast for the following year. Thank you also for those who came. Apologies as I couldn't remember the brands name but I'm happy that the fashion industry has increase in Malaysia and the designers/fashionpreneur has bring their name to the global. What's next, then.?

Anyway, thanks for reading this post guys. :)

#Review on Duckscarves

Monday, October 31, 2016

      Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

(src: instagram)

So today I'm going to give my honest review on the now uprise headscarves brand which is Duckscarves. First of all, Duckscarves is a brand founded by Vivy Yusof and she is a blogger and an entrepreneur in the fashion industry. This brand also have a brand ambassador which is known as D and people or their fan known as Duckies are debating whether D is fictional or not. Well, that's leave to them okay. Now on to the review! :)

I first discovered this brand during my tour in Matrade and there was a display for the brand. I was attracted to the KL Duck display because for me it was such a masterpiece that represents Kuala Lumpur in a unique way. So I started my research on this brand and discovered the founder and all, etc.

The brand have a line called Premium Basics and it just sorts of plain scarves in variety of materials. For now they have it in 8 materials already and the latest addition is in chiffon material. I don't try ALL materials yet but I will.(Maybe) Haha. My first scarf from here is in Bamboo.

The famous duck charm
From above, Raya LE in Green, Brown, Georgette: Purplecane, Lavendar Drops, Bamboo: Diamond Rose & Chiffon: Cornsilk

Personally, bamboo have a range of gorgeous nude colours but sadly, I'm not fancy of the fact that the material is easily wrinkled and that is one of the major concern that this brand should put up with. I have two colours from this brand though and it is Sapphire Ice and Diamond Rose. You can't denied that these are such a beautiful colours but yeah, wrinkled free please D next time you restock bamboo.

I have the colour in Mist and the first thing when I touch the scarf is...OMG it is so comfortable and cooling! I mean like, when you touch it you want to cuddle in it and it is so soft by the way. It is easily stays put on your head and it is very suitable for the moms out there when you dealing with kids that usually pulls your headscarves. It is jersey so wrinkled free right away! I also saw one of the duckies you this material as a mini blanket and that is a great idea of you want a little bit comfy to bit the coldness.

Georgette for me is easily put on the head and drapes beautifully. It also can easily styled in any occasion. I don't know what to say again, it is just an almost perfect material for everyday wear. If you a favourite chiffon wearer but think that the chiffon range from duckscarves are not worthy at all then problem solves guys. Georgette fits the cube.

Satin Silk
So far I only own Rose Tea from this range and I have major love for this colour. I wear it to class almost every week because I simply just, love it. Hehe. The colour rose tea is simply a pink blush colour or people here call it as 'belacan' colour. The downside of this material is you got to carefully iron it despite of its gentle and delicate touch. Seriously, I saw people who got their Duckscarves burned by the iron totally broke my heart. It's not cheap stuff right there, people. Another downside of it is the material is kind of slippery to wear it so you must secure it with bunch of pins to hold it nicely. On the other hand, it really looks exclusive despite of the sheen surface though.

Well, I think that are my honest opinion of Duckscarves. For me, these scarves are really worthy when they release their Skyline scarves which now only consists of two country from Malaysia and Singapore. It screams originality and that is what Duckscarves are unique for. Their limited editions are also to die for and people will resells those LE's in double or triple from the original price. Crazy right?

If you want to get to know Duckscarves more or read other reviews 'bout it, you can search these 'otais' a.k.a old duckies which are more knowledgeable bout this brand on Instagram. You can search them using this hashtag #duckscarves

I also suggest that if you think that Duckscarves are a tad of expensive, you can search these hashtags on Instagram to purchase preloved ones. This is like, to try and test the material first before buying it with the original price BUT make sure you deal with the right person. Don't bluntly buy it, you've been warned.

End of My 1st Semester

Monday, October 24, 2016

     Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies! ♡

So I already ended my diploma first semester quite well *Alhamdulillah* and I was blessed with wonderful roommates and classmates for almost 6 months. Don't worry because I will have another 4 semester with my classmates just that, will I have another same roommates on the next semester? Oh God, please grant me the best roommates for me.

My almost 6 months there as an Accounting student makes me felt grateful that I chose diploma over CAT programme. Yeah, CAT is faster and you can continue pursuing in ACCA after that but I must think of my capability and my indecisive decisions sometimes though... The professional papers will limit my career choice and I don't want my life to be about accounting only. I have a life you know. I want to enjoy too. :(
So for future SPM takers, maybe I'll write a blog post from my perspective of view in this education system.

Alhamdulillah that I got good lecturers and thankful that they always seems to reply all my WhatApps' messages. Sometimes, I just spams them with questions and also bless them for willing to kindly reply me tho. I can get quite annoying sometimes. *Dalam kelas tak nak tanya, haish* I hope that another 4 semesters will be as wonderful as this.

OH and another thing why I like it here is the view of the clear skies and when the sun sets. It always very instagrammable here and I often stares at the skies while strolling my way to the cafes in the evening. I always grateful that I was placed here and please remember guys, there are always blessings in guidance.

Thank you for reading guys, Assalamualaikum! ;)

dUCk Notepads first impression #stationery

Friday, June 03, 2016

Assalamualaikum and hello lovely earthlings. You guys don't know that I am actually a huge duckie, I must stop my temptation to buy more Duckscarves. God, help me T___T. Anyway, Duck open a bazaar at BSC (Bangsar Shopping Centre) and restock most of the colours(i think) there so why not I 'check' it out. Being a stationeries junkie, I've been eye-ing their notepad since their countless teasers on their instagram.

There are two notepads came in an envelope sleeves and each of the notepads have a pencil attached to it which is truly convenient since I don't want to lose my pencils (especially dUCk pencil) anywhere. My first impression of the notepads was that the size is quite bigger than I expected because I thought that it'll going to be small and cute to write on and all. It measures 21cm x 10.5cm but the size actually doesn't bothers me a lot. I'm pretty okay with it.

The thickness is okay and the surface of the paper is quite smooth to write on which is important for me because my mood can instantly change if my pencil suddenly poke a hole into it. You get what I mean.... Oh and I love how they are magnetic and we can simply stick them to the fridge or whiteboard. Very simple but useful for all the housewives out there! Maybe I'm just going to put one of them in my bag and bring it around campus.
The only thing I would change is the envelope sleeves. I hope they make the sleeves more durable as I'm a clumsy person and that envelope sleeves can get wet or get squash anytime. :') Overall, I love the notepads and very excited to use them. I hope Duck Stationery will come out with more stationeries soon. I will be a loyal customer to dUCk if you release more and more (Please give me coupon codes as return)

They are retailed for RM40 and you can purchase these babies online on FashionValet website or just pop in to their stores! You can also pass by the dUCk Bazaar that is located in Bangsar Shopping Centre, keep in mind that bazaar will only be there until the 3rd of July. Maybe you'll find rare colours of scarves there also. Hehe.

What is your fav stationery brand? ♡

Rise Of Headscarves Brand in Malaysia

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

    Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

Living in 2016, there are MANY, I mean many headscarves brand that start to rise up and get a lot of attention for all the Malaysian ladies. (Me also included) *guilty* Well, since I got a bit of a gap time before I'll enter university, I actually discovered that there are really various types of headscarves brands sold in Malaysia which equal to RIP money for all the husbands out there. When I grew up, I only knew one type of headscarf which is Tudung Bawal (Voile Scarf). (Tudung means headscarf in Malay.) Ending primary school with a rising of instant scarves which we call, tudung sarung or as my friend calls it 3 Second Scarves. We ladies just wear it like that and do a bit of adjust. Voila, you are ready to go.

Left: Munawwarrah // Right: Ariani

Upon entering high school on 2011, long scarves (here we just called it shawl) started to gain popularity and was introduced with many and many style to wear. All I can remember that Hana Tajima (a british-japanese designer) style of wearing her scarves were very popular around that year. Last year, she collaborated with Uniqlo to produce her own line of lifewear. You can check it here: UNIQLO x Hana Tajima. All I remember that 5 years ago was when headscarves line started to grow like mushrooms where there were brands like Aidijuma, Fareeda, Bawal Exclusives and etc started. Many, huh?

Left: Fareeda // Right: Aidijuma

Now in 2016, so many boutiques pop out of nowhere and sometimes, the price offered and all the discounts just makes me instantly raise my white flag. Oh why, oh god. Now there are also known brand that make their way up above all the scarves with their great advertisement. For example like Naelofar Hijab, Duckscarves, MumuScarves and etc. Sometimes, the name of the brand just sounds so cute. (Like mumuscarves, it sounds quite cute right? mumu..)

Left: Sugarscarf // Right: Duckscarves
Left: Naelofar Hijab  // Right: Mumuscarves

There are many more including the celebrities collaboration and stuff but it's okay because we got to support our local business right? Props to them! Not everyone will succeed internationally but some prove to do so. Well it means that my wallet hurting from all the cash just go out but never actually go in. :')

Now with Ramadan saying hi soon, people will busy preparing their Raya clothes and there will be more and more sale. More and more crying of the money exchanging hands. Oh my god. Anyway, this will be an introduction to anyone that will wearing headscarves soon. If God Wills. You got a lot of choices! If you are not from Malaysia, they mostly ship internationally! So no worries.

Which scarf is your favourite?

Muslim Lifestyle Show 2016 @ Olympia, London

Wednesday, May 04, 2016

    Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies.

On the 30th April, my mom and I went to Muslim Lifestyle Show at Olympia Central, London and this is my second fashion show. My first was during KLFW last year, I think.

I was really excited to come here because I don't know, I like to look at all the beautiful and unique clothes. The representative from Malaysia are Naelofar, Norish Kareem, Aidijuma & Blossom Box, Mara in Fashion, Imaan Boutique, Rina Salleh Clothing and Siti Khadijah. They are all amazing brands and their outfits are gorgeous on the runway. These are few of the clothes that I manage to snap while they are on the runway. Some of them walked quite fast though. When I took the pictures, they move.

Beware: Photo Spamming alert

KK (I forgot the full name. I think it's Khloe Kouture..)

I wanted to take picture with Neelofa (a Malaysian celebrity) but she didn't come on the 30th. She'll available on the 1st though but sadly I'm not. Just manage to snap her booth, well that's okay... :'(

I also bought Halal marshmallows there! It's really delicious and soft, but the vanilla one quite sweet for my tooth. Anyway, I hope there will be more Malaysia's brand export internationally. Seriously, I'm quite proud with the local brands in the fashion industry. They got really good stuffs. *Thumbs up*

I think that's all for today post! Sorry for the sudden hiatus. I'll be posting more before I hit college!

Review: Lush Don't Look At Me Mask

Monday, April 11, 2016

   Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies!

So I just finished my Lush face mask and going to talk about it if you guys want to know a little bit further 'bout this mask. Unfortunately, Lush isn't available in Malaysia but you guys can purchase them online on Lush's Singapore website.  I first discovered this mask from MyLifeAsEva's video where she put the mask on Brian and the colour of the mask just so vibrant. I was like, it is SO aqua blue and I like it. I want it. Asap. Luckily when I was in Canada, we bumped into a Lush store and thank god the mask is in stock. So yeah, now get on to the review! Sorry, for dragging you to my mini story time.

I bought the smallest pot thinking that I'll be able to finish this before or a little bit late from the expiry date. Sadly, the mask expired about a week and a half after I purchased it consider it's a fresh mask but I put it in the fridge so... nothing bad happened.

When I first applied the face mask I was actually quite surprised that it spread very easily consider my previous experience with Cupcake and Oatifix are nothing like this on first application. I will usually exfoliate the mask on my face before leave it on for 10-15 minutes. I am not sure what's the cause of the exfoliation but I think it's the grounded white rice. In the process 10-15 minutes, I usually take picture of myself and send it to bunch of my friends. 😜

Now on to the rinse time! It rinses off easily and I just go on to my usual skincare routine.

It didn't make a huge change for my skin but it really felt exfoliated but not in a quite smooth way. Although it can be quite harsh for a sensitive skin but I still can cope with the 'harshness'. I did breakout on my first and second use of it though. (Disappointed since I really into this mask) Overall, after the second used I didn't get any breakout from the mask again. Thank god.

I really like the smell and the scent is very similar to Lush's Love and Light Hand Cream though. A calm lemony scent that I'll sniff whenever I apply it on my hands. It took me 'bout 2 months to finish this small pot and I applied it 2-3 times a week. I also want to finish it quick due to the expiry date and to keep up with the freshness.

I give it 3.8/5 stars.

It is not one of the best mask I used but it's a great mask if you just want to have a little bit of fun with the colour. I will not recommend this to sensitive skins since it has lemon in it which might be too acidic for the skin.

Ingredients: Glycerine, Kaolin, Water(Aqua), Fresh Organic Lemon Juice, Organic Siliken Tofu, Rice Syrup, Grounded White Rice, Rice Milk, Murumuru Butter, Bentone Gel, Grapefruit Oil, Neroli Oil, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Farnesol, Perfume, Colour 42090

So, what's your fav Lush masks?

Old Disney Memories

Friday, April 08, 2016

    Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies x

So I just watched Hannah Montana The Movie this morning and I was so excited that I watched it twice. (I want to watched it more though). Suddenly, I felt an urge to cry when it comes to and end where Miley sang The Climb. It was like there was a knock in my heart that send me back to my childhood and yes, I miss the old Disney. Miss it very much. Seriously, I wish Disney Channel do a throwback moment where it airs all the BEST moment in disney. Now, I feel like I don't know Disney at all and never watched it since. I know I'm growing up and all but I grew along the Disney shows.

I think my first Disney shows were either That's So Raven or Lizzie McGuire and that's where I completely fell in love with Disney. I was a little girl that adore Lizzie and Raven and their jokes. Then comes Hannah Montana, Wizard Of Waverly Place, Suite Life Of Zack and Cody and many more. That's where I learn to make jokes(seriously) and learn about new things. Not to mention I learned English by watching all these shows.

But now I'm happy that Emily Osment cast in a sitcom Young and Hungry! When I watched her in that show, I always remember the times when she was that Lily in Hannah Montana. Not to mention that Young and Hungry is one of my favourite shows and I'll never miss it. Now all the Disney acts are all grown up and they will always be in everyone hearts. For instance, even though Miley Cyrus changed 360 degrees completely but if you actually hear her new music, there's still that voice that was once inspired people.

I think Phineas and Ferb is my last Disney show. Yup and then I just grew. I guess.

So thank you for reading this post very much and if you are not a Disney fan, thank you too for reading this! Why don't you suggest me fun tv shows to watch before I'll be busy with college soon. :)

What's your favourite old disney shows?
